Pittsburgh Guitars has been in business for over 30 years,
and we offer private, individual guitar lessons
at our store on Pittsburgh's South Side.
Our teachers provide lessons to a wide variety of skill levels and to all ages,
from complete beginners to musicians that
want to brush up on theory and technique.
Whether you're interested in learning acoustic styles, blues, jazz, or "Hey! I just want to learn
some chords so that I can play guitar around the campfire!" we can get you there.
Each lesson is tailored to your
preferred style of music, and your goals in learning to play.
$34 for 1 Hour Lesson
$19 for 1/2 Hour Lesson
Some books may be
required for instruction.
When you sign up for lessons,
we'll ask you to pay for your
lesson in advance, to hold the spot.
Then when you come to your first lesson, you'll pay for your second lesson,
and so on. That way,
you're always paid ahead
your next scheduled lesson.
You must remain current in
payments to keep your
reserved lesson time.
Lessons must be canceled
at least 24 hours prior to
scheduled time, by
store or your
will be credited to

|Rich Dugan has been playing
guitar for 52 years and teaching students of all ages and levels of skill for more than 30, many of them here at Pittsburgh Guitars. He's an accomplished
instrumentalist who teaches all styles of music, with a focus on
fingerstyle, classic rock, blues, and slide guitar in standard and alternate tunings.
||Spencer Geer is a skilled musician and educator with particular expertise in guitar and bass education. He is experienced in multiple genres of music,
principally rock, blues, jazz, and R&B. He has experience teaching both beginners and advanced students, and is holds a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from Duquesne University.
|Anthony Ambrosohas been a committed music educator since his teenage years, and has experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. A classically trained musician, he holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the New England Conservatory of Music. His stylistically diverse background makes him an excellent teacher of folk, rock, R&B, jazz, and country music. He is also skilled in slide and fingerstyle guitar, and working in alternate tunings.
||Ben Sherman is a well-rounded musician who teaches and performs in many different styles of music, particularly jazz, blues, funk, rock, and R&B. In addition to guitar, Ben also teaches bass lessons, and has worked with students of both instruments on topics ranging from mastering playing in a particular style to writing and
arranging their own songs.
