2014 Taylor 816CE at Pittsburgh Guitars 2014 Taylor 816CE
Featuring Taylor's Grand Auditorium body size, this natural, gloss finish guitar is exceptionally clean. It has a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a marbled ebony fingerboard, maple binding and back strip, rosewood top edge trim, a rosewood pickguard with Taylor’s "Element" fretboard inlay in mother-of-pearl, and factory installed electronics. It has no scratches, and is in nearly perfect condition, with the exception of a small indentation on the upper back, which does is not through the finish, and does not show up in pictures. The tuning gears have been upgraded to Gotoh Delta Series 510 gears. Price includes equally clean original deluxe hard case. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8)

Used 1975 Martin D-28 at Pittsburgh Guitars 1975 Martin D-28
A lovely example of this classic Martin model, with a solid spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides. The rosewood on this guitar is particularly attractive. Other features include an unbound ebony fingerboard and bridge, black pickguard, and Grover tuners. It's in excellent overall condition, with a couple small dings, and lots of fine finish checking. From Martin's Standard Series, the recently re-designed D-18 has all solid wood construction, with a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid genuine mahogany back and sides. It also features a solid black ebony fingerboard, a tortoise-color pickguard, and a new, sleek High Performance neck for enhanced playability. This lefty is in incredibly clean condition -- no dings or scrapes or scratches, and no visible playwear. Price includes equally-clean original hard Martin case. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8)

2006 Gibson Advanced Jumbo at Pittsburgh Guitars 2006 Gibson Advanced Jumbo
This recreation of Gibson's famous original features a vintage sunburst finish on a solid Sitka spruce top, with beautifully figured solid Indian rosewood back and sides. It has a bound rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl diamond-and-arrows inlays, and a traditional 25 1/2 inch scale mahogany neck. Other features include a vintage firestripe pickguard, and vintage nickel hardware. It's in excellent overall condition, with minimal playwear and light surface scratches. 1996 Taylor 410 at Pittsburgh Guitars 1996 Taylor 410
Natural finish on a solid Sitka spruce top, with solid African mahogany back and sides, and a satin finish. It has an ebony fretboard, and strings-through bridge, and an after-market K & K pickup added. It's in very good+ condition, with a number of dings and some visible fretwear with plenty of fret left. The finish is lifting on the binding seam on the back, and there is a hole on the heel cap where there was once a strap button. Price includes original hard case. Natural finish and in excellent condition, with a couple light surface scratches, not through the finish. Features include a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides with mahogany body binding, a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, and Yamaha's SRT System 66 preamp and piezo pickup. Satin finish, 5-string banjo with blond maple resonator and black back binding. It has a 3-ply maple rim, and Deering's patented Goodtime Special tone ring for a "powerfully crisp, bright, sparkling tone." It is in excellent overall condition, with light playwear. A clean example from the 1950s, solid mahogany, with some scratches and dings. Plays great, holds its tuning forever, and sounds rich and sweet. Price includes a non-original hard padded case. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6)

c. 1928 Paramount Style B Tenor banjo at Pittsburgh Guitars 1928 Paramount Style B Tenor Banjo
Famous the world over in its time, and highly sought after by dance band players in the 1920s, Paramount banjos were marketed as "The Banjo with Piano Volume and Harp Quality." The position markers are a fancy pearl design, and the headstock is decorated with stylish pearl inlays. This banjo is almost completely original, with calfskin head, and in excellent overall condition given its age. It has assorted dings and scratches, one replacement tuner, and the playwear you'd expect from an 86-year old instrument. There is a crack in the heel that was repaired when we got it. Key to Descriptions

Before we sell any used instrument, we send it through our repair shop for a complete set up. But because they're used, we've worked out the following descriptions to let you know how used they are. We'll be happy to give you more information via phone or email.

Mint Condition--like new, no wear
Excellent condition
--some play wear, maybe some small dings or light surface scratches
Very good condition
--a few scratches, some dings and/or lacquer chips, but structurally sound, normal play wear
Good condition--structurally sound, has been played a lot, some repairs or cosmetic flaws possible
Fair condition--a well-loved guitar, may have some problems, but we'll describe them as accurately as possible
As-is--needs work
