Used Gibson & Epiphone Guitars

1971 Gibson SG at Pittsburgh Guitars

1971 SG
Walnut stain with original patent sticker humbuckers, and all original with the exception of one rewound bobbin in the bridge pickup (done by Tom Brantley). The serial number dates it to 1970-1972, and the pot codes date to 1971. It has a slim neck profile, and original wide frets with minimal wear, as well as the original lyre tailpiece & vibrola and nylon bridge saddles. The neck is straight and it plays great. It is in excellent overall condition, with a number of small dings, chips, and scuff marks, and some light finish checking. It comes with the original rectangular Gibson case with gold inside. 2013 Gibson Government Series II Flying V at Pittsburgh Guitars

2013 Gibson Limited Edition Government Series II Flying V
Perhaps you have heard about the federal raid on the Gibson factory in 2011, that resulted in the seizure of some stocks of tonewood. Following an investigation and subsequent resolution of the issue, that wood was eventually returned to Gibson and they chose to commemorate the event by using the wood in a new batch of guitars called the Government Series. This guitar is a Government Series II Flying V, in Government Tan finish. Its fingerboard is made from the government-seized rosewood. It features a mahogany body, glued in mahogany neck with `60s profile, and unbound one-piece fingerboard made from rosewood returned by the Feds. It has two hot Dirty Fingers+ humbuckers, a black pickguard with Government Series II graphic, black Speed Knobs, and black pickup rings.

This is a player's guitar. We purchased this guitar from the original owner, and it is in excellent overall condition. It has several small dings and a couple small finish chips. They are shown in the pictures, and do not impact the guitar's playablity. There are some surface scratches on the pickguard, and part of the gold-colored graphic is worn off. And it has only the slightest visible fretwear in the lower positions. The "vintage gloss" finish has a matte-like quality overall, and there are places where this guitar has been played to a shine, most noticeably where the original owner's arm rested on the top, on the back of the body where it rested on him, as well as the back of the neck.

It comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, and the original hard Gibson case. The case is in similarly clean condition, with a couple small scuff marks; all latches and hinges intact and working, and the handle secure.
